“Two people bound to complete each other – or destroy each other. 1951. Mexico City. Writer William S. Burroughs awakes to find himself in jail, being questioned about the death of his wife Joan Vollmer. Their drunken game of William Tell went wrong, and now the Mexican police want to know exactly what happened. Was it an accident, a murder, or a bizarre form of suicide? Bill & Joan is a phantasmagorical journey through Burroughs’s heroin-hazed, tortured mind in search of what really happened on that night when a speed freak and a junkie walked into a metaphorical bar, but only one walked out.”

I’m pleased to be a part of this production, serving as Prop Designer and Asst. Director. The cast and crew have been outstanding and the play itself has been evolving ever since it saw the light of day. I highly suggest this production, whether you know what happened between William S. Burroughs and his wife, Joan Vollmer, or not. Either way, you’ll come away unable to resist discussing the piece with fellow patrons long after the curtain has closed.
